National Basic Security Training

National Basic Security Training (NBST) is the foundational training program for security professionals in Canada. This training prepares security professionals to be safe and effective in their roles and responsibilities, and prepares them for specialized and advanced training for the unique posts they will have.  (40 hr; 120 days to complete)

Mobile Patrol and Response

Mobile Patrol and Response presents theoretical and practical aspects of driving theory for security professionals using motorized vehicles to patrol and attend situations. This course presents information and strategies on vehicle inspection and preparation, defensive driving, mobile patrols, and response procedures. Uniformed Patrol and Surveillance

Uniformed Patrol and Surveillance provides security professionals with the knowledge and skills to effectively perform patrols and surveillance in a variety of environments. Ethical Conduct develops learner understanding of the values, purpose, and importance of having integrity in the security industry. Learners explore the negative influences that can affect a security professional’s integrity. Human Physiology and Psychology

Human Physiology and Psychology is foundational to understanding how a person responds to the stress of a difficult situation. Topics include human physiology, the sympathetic nervous system, the triune brain model, and strategies for engaging with people in different cognitive states. (4 hr; 30 days to complete)

Professionalism

Professionalism re-enforces learner understanding of the key component of professional in the security industry. The emphasis is on acceptable processes and practices that build trust and respect with the community. Tactical Communication is the use of verbal and nonverbal communication strategies to obtain cooperation or voluntary compliance and de-escalate a situation. Trauma-informed Care

Trauma-informed Care is a first-responders guide to assisting people who may be suffering from psychological trauma. This course is designed for security professionals and authority figures to work with someone in a manner that does not worsen their trauma while still resolving the situation and getting the subject to advanced care. Drone Pilot Training

Drone Pilot Training presents the requirements to legally use a drone in Canada. Under the 2025 Transport Canada regulations, you may require no training, a special flight operations certificate, or a drone pilot license — depending on the specifics of the drone and environment. CA🍁SP currently does not offer the drone pilot training, but can if there is demand.
