Federal Security Officer

The government of Canada has established training requirements for employment as a security professional in a federal facility. Specifically, security professionals require CAN/CGSB-133.1-2017 certification. This program has been accepted as equivalent to CAN/CGSB-133.1-2017. (60 hours + first aid; four months to complete)

A pre-requisite for this certificate program is successful completion of the Alberta Basic Security Training course. 

Online courses: Access Control and Concierge Services, Uniformed Patrol and Surveillance, Event and Crowd Security, Mobile Patrol and Response, and Operations Room.

In-person courses: first aid (8 or 16 hr).
